BABIP's annual STATE OF THE RACE presents practical, research-based information for professionals, activists, and decision-makers in the nonprofit, foundation, and public sectors.  This is a comprehensive look at trends and dynamics affecting black people in Bay Area communities, which can be directly applied to many kinds of advocacy, direct service, and organizing efforts to improve quality of life issues for African Americans.

This year's STATE OF THE RACE will explore the implications of regional governance and markets for the black community with a focus on promising models for employment and entrepreneurship within an innovation framework.  The convening will also highlight workshops on tools for improving communications and networking with technology, policy advocacy and venture capital.
